Middle School (MS) Program
Logan Middle School Program (Grades 6–8)
Our Logan middle school program serves students in grades 6–8 and is designed to support both academic achievement and personal growth during this important stage of development. Through small class sizes, individualized support, engaging learning experiences, and leadership opportunities, students develop the skills and confidence needed for success in high school and beyond.
Small Classes & Personalized Learning
Students benefit from small class sizes that allow teachers to provide individualized attention and meaningful feedback. Instruction frequently occurs in small groups so teachers can address specific learning needs and ensure that every student is both supported and challenged. This personalized approach promotes strong academic growth for all students.
Project-Based Learning
Our classrooms emphasize project-based learning, where students collaborate to investigate real-world problems and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. Through hands-on, interdisciplinary projects, students build critical thinking, communication, research, and problem-solving skills while deepening their understanding of core academic content.
Dual Language Spanish Pathway
Students who participated in a Dual Language Spanish program in elementary school may continue their bilingual learning in middle school through our Dual Language pathway. In this program, students take history courses taught in Spanish and participate in Spanish-language electives that strengthen reading, writing, speaking, and academic vocabulary.
Students who successfully complete the Dual Language program throughout grades 6–8 are prepared to earn the Seal of Biliteracy by the end of 8th grade, recognizing their proficiency in both English and Spanish and preparing them for future academic and career opportunities.
Full Inclusion for Special Education Students
Our school is committed to a full inclusion model. Students receiving special education services learn alongside their peers in general education classrooms with support from special education teachers and instructional staff. Collaborative teaching, accommodations, and individualized support ensure that all students can access rigorous instruction and thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Advisory & Interest-Based Clubs
Every student participates in an advisory program that fosters connection, mentorship, and social-emotional development. During advisory, students explore their interests by signing up for clubs led by teachers and staff. Clubs may include art, robotics, gaming, music, sports, creative writing, coding, leadership, and many others. This structure allows students to build friendships, discover new interests, and feel connected to the school community.
Student Leadership & Voice
Students play an active role in shaping school culture through an elected Student Council. Student leaders collaborate with staff to plan school-wide events and represent student perspectives. The council organizes activities such as school dances, spirit week themes, fundraising events, lunchtime activities, and other community-building celebrations.
Fun Fridays & School Community
Each Friday, students look forward to special lunchtime events known as “Fun Fridays.” These activities may include games, music, friendly competitions, themed events, or student performances, helping to strengthen school spirit and create a joyful school environment.
College & Career Exploration
Students begin exploring their future through college field trips and campus visits. These experiences expose students to higher education environments, inspire goal-setting, and reinforce the importance of academic preparation.
Throughout the school year, students enjoy a variety of memorable community events such as dances, school picnics, spirit weeks, and school-wide celebrations. These traditions help foster a positive, inclusive culture in which students feel a strong sense of belonging and pride in their school.
